Pinky

William and Lauren woke up this morning to find these letters. Letters that came directly from Santa! Our elf, Pinky Pinkleton, has been away for a couple of days. We thought for sure the reason was that W and L were on the naughty list...they haven't exactly been following the elf rules for good behavior. Well, Pinky surely called in some favors. Because he came back last night with a letter for each of them letting them know they were still in Santa's good graces!

Major Excitement

William has finally lost a tooth! Since February, when we discovered the first loose tooth, he has had 7 teeth become wigglers. Not one has fallen out until now! The tooth loss was a highly emotional 2 minutes as I got the nerve to pull that thing out.  William is so happy to  have a tooth out in time for his 2nd grade pictures.

 Lauren's first day of Kindergarten and Williams first day of 2nd grade!

 Lauren totally surprised me and went in like she owned the place. She didn't seem nervous at all. When  I picked her up she was still excited!!

 William wanted no part of picture taking. He said he has been doing this for years and didn't need pictures (I needed pictures!). He really wanted to take Lauren and handle it on his own. What  a great big brother!

                                    

Lauren is getting ready for kindergarten.  She picked out her first backpack.  The decision was tough. We cruised around the store with 3 different backpacks until L made her decision.  Really, Pinkalicious and colorful apple didn't have a chance against Justin!

Family bike rides always look like this.  Zoe is even along for the ride. William has a goal to ride 6 miles (in one ride) by the end of summer.  Today he did four...not far from his goal!

L Pre-K graduation

L's class did a nice little performance tonight. They sang several songs with the hit being "The Farmer and the Dell". Lauren is the cat and super cute! The graduation was so precious; complete with diplomas, entertainment, refreshments, and gifts--the school did a terrific job pulling it all together.

Glasses

Both W and L went for eye exams today. William left with an order placed for reading glasses! L was quite jealous that she was not getting glasses. So, we went to trusty Claire's and picked out some stylin' glasses and a wallet (known to the rest of us as an eye glass case).

So long ago...

at least, it seems that way--so long ago that L had a pacifier. Really, it has only been six months since L has given up the pacifier, right before her 4th birthday. In these six months, she has changed so much. There is nothing baby about her anymore, she is a little girl; a school-age little girl. I really can't believe how she has changed. The princess dresses haven't changed. She still wears a princess dress daily--it's the first thing she puts on in the morning (if she hasn't slept in one) and the first thing she puts on when she is home from school. Sometimes she wears the same princess dress for days; sometimes she changes dresses every hour, or so. The princess phase is beginning to be sprinkled with the rock star phase. L often talks about having a "rock star" party and performs "rock star" shows. No matter how she changes, or what phase she is in, her zesty personality and deep imagination always shine.
