William's Birthday

William is showing us how old he is now--There are three fingers involved, it is hard to tell
William is waiting for his cake, because he couldn't turn three until he ate the frosting.

Lauren thinks it is particularly fun to put on my sunglasses and try to walk. She likes to make sure everyone sees. When I put the glasses on her, she won't step away until she gets Grandma's attention by sounding off with her attention getting grunt and then off she goes.

This is Lauren's second Oreo. She really enjoyed the cookie down to the very last bite.

William got a big wheel for his birthday and Lauren was so happy.

William is THREE!

William insisted that he was not three until after he ate the cake frosting--that is the only part he eats.

Round and round we go!

Oh my, William and Lauren had great fun playing in Granddad's desk chair. They must have done it 10 times in a row. Lauren had to be peeled from the chair; she loved it so much

There were Ten in the Bed...

William fell asleep for nap with his Casio Keyboard on his shoulder (it was mine when I was little, needless to say--he loves it)

William not only sleeps with me at night, but he also has a collection of friend that keep him safe from robots. He has a fear of robots--I don't really know why. His friends include Mickey Mouse, Joey, Blueberry, Jillian, kangaroo, flippy, octopus, elephant, and dolly. William protects Jillian and the other friends help him feel safe.

William's and Lauren's Random Adventures

William always flies this airplane when we go to the Bx. He loves it, of course. Lauren is finally big enough to ride the airplane and would probably have died if she didn't get her chance. She gives these very quiet squeals when she really wants something--usually it's food or electronics related. She took flying the airplane very seriously. You can see in her face the seriousness of this job.

William pointing to Daddy's location for his deployment. This location is what William calls "the pink dot". So, Daddy's at "the pink dot".

Lauren is doing a great job balancing. She can stand anywhere and play without holding onto the chair or table. She has even take as many as 6 steps. I am going to have a new walker on my hands soon. I can't wait!
After dinner, William chose to have a popsicle as his special treat for eating a good dinner (he has been in to not liking things lately). Well, Lauren did her "I want that" squeal. So, I let her try one. She loved it!! She ate every last piece right off the stick and was sticky head to toe.

Bubble Bath

William and Lauren had a fun time in the bath. I think this is the first bubble bath that Lauren has taken that she actually enjoyed the bubbles. William has always enjoyed bubble baths. This time, he is modeling his first bubble beard.

4th of July

We started our 4th of July celebration with a neighborhood children's parade. William was lucky enough to be assistant Grand Marshall of the parade. He provided the music with his harmonica while the owner of the firetruck, Carter, drove. Carter was more than happy to let William drive; but, William is not the best driver. I think 911 would have been involved if William had remained in control of the firetruck. By the way, William and Lauren are wearing one of the outfits that I made for them.

After the children's parade, we took a trip down to Lake City, FL. There, we ate supper with Uncle Dean, Aunt Katherine, Great Mother (that is what W calls his great grandmother), and Great Grandad.
In these pictures, we are loaded up to walk to the lake from my grandparents house for the fireworks. Both the kids were already covered with bug bites; so, we weren't taking any chances tonight.
William liked the fireworks but, became quickly bored with them. When they were done, he wanted to know when we were going to see more. Lauren was terrified when they first started; but, after finding mommy and having some milk she was able to enjoy the show.
